Uncontested Adoptions

Uncontested adoptions occur when the birth parents of the child do not object to you adopting their child or children and are willing to sign a consent form.

Many times, adoptive parents are birth relatives (grandparents, aunts, uncles) or step-parents who want a larger role in providing for the child or children’s well-being. Other times, adoptive parents are individuals who are unable to give birth to children of their own. In either situation, I assist adopting parents in properly completing all legal requirements.

Contested Adoptions

If the birth parent or parents of the child or children cannot be located or are unwilling to provide consent for the adoption, I will assist you in obtaining a termination of parental rights. Termination is warranted in situations where birth parents have abused, neglected or failed to provide for the basic needs of the child or children or where birth parents cannot be found.
